The Introvert

The Introvert was designed as part of a two part exercise to explore the contrasting needs of natural light & privacy through organization of space. The house was created in parts and each space was given a dedicated cove or courtyard to connect it to the exterior. Rooms with courtyards were placed on the outside edges of the plan surrounding the central living space in the core of the house. Windows into the Living, Dining and Kitchen are pushed far from the outer edges of the building in the voids between the outer rooms . Full height glass feature minimal frames and building materials flow freely between interior and exterior spaces.
